Backcountry skiing
I have been skiing all over the world for many years in places as close as my back door in Montana and Wyoming to isolated regions of Western Canada, the European Alps and the polar regions of Norway. There really is no limit to venues. In addition to the regions I have listed below, I can also arrange customized ski trips to many areas of the world. This coming year, I will be guiding the Ortler traverse in Italy as well as ski touring in Norway as well as my bread and butter ski terrain in Cooke City, Montana and Jackson, Wyoming. the Tetons
Grand Teton National Park has some of the finest backcountry ski terrain in North America. I can plan single or multi day trips based out of Jackson, Wyoming ranging from blower powder runs to steep and technical descents in isolated regions of the range. While guiding in the Tetons, I work with Exum Mountain Guides.
Cooke City, MT
Utilizing the permitted terrain of Beartooth Powder Guides based out of Cooke City. Montana, you will be able to experience some of the most remote and isolated ski terrain in the region. This is really the end of the road in the winter and a place I have spent many a day ski touring. With the resources of a Yurt or Cabin, you will be able to tune out and get turned on to the vast backcountry of the Beartooth Mountains of Montana.
More North American and International trips
There are many additional areas in North America and Europe that I have skied. Whether it's the San Juans of Colorado or the Columbia mountains of Canada, I can put together ski touring trips that will cater to your specific needs. Some recommended areas to consider that I have great familairty with:
- San Juan Mountains of Colorado and Red Mountain Pass
- Mt Baker in the North Cascades of Washington
- The Columbia Mountains of Canada. There are numerous huts in Canada that provide excellent ski touring and accomodations
- European Alps including iconic regions in the Ortlers or Italy
- Lofoten Islands and the Tromso region of Northern Norway
- Svalbard Ski and Sail; I am putting together a trip for May 2018 to Svalbard in the North Arctic. Stay tuned for details
